Interview With An Expert: How To Get Rid Of Grey Hair Naturally

I’m not sure when it happened, but I remember it vividly! My first grey hair! It petrified me, as it meant I was getting old. As soon as I pulled it out, I went online and found an article detailing exactly how to get rid of grey hair naturally.

I spoke with a hair dying expert, who specializes in natural remedies to figure out exactly how to prevent going grey completely. Here’s the transcript.

One’s hair color fading is a natural process of ageing. There are many different ways of hiding greying hairs, one of the most popular methods is using hair dye. Most women, and sometimes men, use hair dye to cover up their ageing areas. However, this is not the greatest solution, as hair dye will eventually start to grow out and it can be expensive. While natural home remedies for grey hair might not be as fast as hair dye, it can actually be a better long term solution, as the results are more permanent.

There are various natural, inexpensive ways of banishing the grey hairs from your head naturally. One of the first is the fenugreek seeds and coconut oil treatment. This works so brilliantly as seeds contain amino acids, which will prevent your hair from continuing to grey. The ingredients and method to this natural remedy couldn’t be any simpler. All the ingredients you need is 1/4 cup of fenugreek seeds and 1/2 a cup of coconut oil. Simply boil the oil, then later add the seeds. After around 10 minutes, remove the mixture from the heat and allow it to cool down before applying it to the hair. Leave the application to soak in overnight and repeat the process twice a week over a 3 week period.

Curry Leaves

Another natural remedy to treat greying hair is by using curry leaves with coconut oil. This is basically the same method as the previous, except rather than adding fenugreek seeds to boiling coconut oil, add curry leaves instead. Let it cool, apply it to greying hair and then leave it on overnight. This process, however, must be repeated for twice a week for a minimum period of 4 weeks before results start to show.

The last remedy I am going to share, involves coconut oil (again) and amla. Amla, or Indian gooseberry is one of the most effective natural ingredients to help prevent grey hairs. It’s a source of vitamin C, and is known to be used in treating all kinds of hair problems. The principle of this remedy is again very similar. For this remedy, you will need at least 5 pieces of dried amla and 1/2 a cup of coconut. You will want to boil the oil and add the amla, then after around 10 minutes remove the mixture from the heat. After waiting for the mixture to dry, lather it on the hair and leave it on overnight.
